Announcement of the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change
Pursuant to the Zero Waste Regulation; it has been determined that while the transition periods for buildings/campuses to the system have been completed, most businesses have not yet applied to the system. Furthermore, sub-paragraph 12 of Article 5, titled "General Principles", of the aforementioned regulation states: "Within the scope of the zero waste management system, it is essential to segregate waste at the source according to its type and to collect waste segregated at the source separately without mixing." In complaints consistently forwarded to our Provincial Directorate, it is stated that businesses do not segregate their waste by type, especially mixing packaging waste with organic waste.
In this regard, it is announced that administrative sanctions will be imposed in accordance with Environmental Law No. 2872 (amended by Law No. 5491) upon the identification of businesses that fail to segregate their generated waste by type, do not manage waste in compliance with legislative provisions, and/or do not possess a Zero Waste Certificate.
Businesses obligated to establish a Zero Waste Management System can obtain detailed information on their requirements from the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change (0242 237 00 10).
