Announcement on the Periodic Inspection and Stamping of Measures and Measuring Instruments

 PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATE OF INDUSTRY AND TECHNOLOGY

  ANNOUNCEMENT ON PERIODIC INSPECTION AND STAMPING OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS AND MEASURES

Pursuant to Law No. 3516 on Weights and Measures;

It is mandatory for measuring instruments and measures to undergo periodic inspection at specified intervals. The deadline for submitting declarations for the periodic inspection of measuring instruments and measures whose stamping periods have expired is the end of the day on February 28, 2022.
Therefore;

  • Persons and organizations possessing electricity, water, and natural gas meters that have completed their 10-year stamping period, and length, area, volume, density meters (areometers), grain inspection instruments, and transfer meters that have completed their 2-year stamping period, MUST APPLY TO THE PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATES OF INDUSTRY AND TECHNOLOGY TO WHICH THEY ARE AFFILIATED IN TERMS OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES,
  • Persons and organizations possessing length measures (single-piece wooden meters), volume measures for liquids, volume measures for dry granular materials, non-automatic mass measures up to 5 kg (inclusive), mechanical weighing instruments with a maximum capacity of up to 2000 kg (inclusive) and without spring or electronic mechanisms, including table scales, suspended scales, single-arm scales, and dial scales that have completed their 2-year stamping period; as well as Class III and IV non-automatic electronic weighing instruments, with a weighing capacity of 2000 kg or less, used in open or closed market places established on days and locations determined by Municipalities, where goods are sold directly to consumers by producers and vendors, MUST APPLY TO THE GROUP CENTER MUNICIPAL WEIGHTS AND MEASURES OFFICES TO WHICH THEY ARE AFFILIATED IN TERMS OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES,

 

  • Persons and organizations possessing Class I and Class II precise electronic and mechanical weighing instruments with a maximum capacity of up to 2000 kg (inclusive) that have completed their 2-year stamping period; electronic weighing instruments capable of reading, providing output, or operating dependently with other electronic devices; Class III and IV non-automatic electronic weighing instruments with a weighing capacity of 2000 kg or less; Automatic weighing instruments, Tachographs, Taximeters, MUST APPLY TO THE AUTHORIZED INSPECTION SERVICES AUTHORIZED BY THE MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND TECHNOLOGY IN ANTALYA PROVINCE, found at https://msurapor.sanayi.gov.tr.


For the inspection of measuring systems for continuous and dynamic measurement of quantities of liquids other than water (Fuel and LPG), compressed natural gas (CNG) measuring systems, fuel volume measuring containers, devices used for measuring air pressure in motor vehicle tires, precise mass measures, mass measures above 5 kg, railway freight and tank wagons, non-automatic weighing instruments with a maximum capacity exceeding 2000 kg, and axle weighers, it is mandatory to apply electronically via basvuruportal.tse.org.tr to the Turkish Standards Institution.

  It is necessary to apply with a petition for the inspection and stamping of measuring instruments and measures and obtain a document specifying the inspection date.

Administrative monetary penalties ranging from 911.00 TL to 18,217.00 TL will be imposed for each measuring instrument on individuals who do not have periodic inspections performed on their measuring instruments and use such instruments, in accordance with Article 15/c of Law No. 3516 on Weights and Measures.
